TAC is a leader in supporting YES trainees

The partnership between the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) , Northern Futures, Neighbourhood Renewal, MENTOR and CREATE continues to strengthen with the organisation committing to continue its participation in State Government funded Youth Employment Scheme (YES) which has already yielded great outcomes for young people from Corio and Norlane.
Already, TAC has successfully engaged 23 trainees in Certificate 3 Business since 2008 and intakes will continue on a regular basis into the future. The challenge is now being set for other government organisations to follow the TAC’s lead by also becoming part of the scheme and making a real difference to the lives of individuals from the 3214 area.
Andrew Boag, TAC Executive Manager Claims Service and Performance, values the opportunity to offer young people a pathway into employment.
“Part of our responsibility as a member of the Geelong community is to have a positive impact on the people and the region in which we operate.”
“It is fantastic that the TAC is able to be part of the YES partnership which has resulted in some very encouraging outcomes for the trainees who have been involved.”
Northern Futures is urging other organisations to also join YES and start assisting young people to gain training and work place experience in preparation for longer term employment.
