Partner Profile: The Gordon Institute of TAFE
Northern Futures values its partnership with the Gordon Institute of TAFE who continues to be actively involved in programs implemented in Geelong’s northern suburbs.
The Gordon management and staff have worked extensively with Northern Futures in the establishment and roll out of the Logistics training program. The program, first implemented in 2010, provides education and employment pathways to long term and disadvantaged unemployed from the 3214 area. It has already achieved fantastic results with all participants moving into further training or employment with local industries.
Much of the success of the Logistics program is due to the commitment and dedication of the Gordon team. Training staff have been enthusiastic in providing tailored, intensive support to our program participants to give them the best possible chance of success and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to move into employment. This has been reinforced by Northern Futures’ industry partners who have found program participants to be highly capable and ‘work ready’ as a result of their training.
As Northern Futures plans towards expanding its skills and employment programs into new industry areas, it looks forward to continuing its relationship with the Gordon.
