Centre for Work and Learning
Northern Futures has welcomed the announcement by Premier, Ted Baillieu that Geelong’s Northern suburbs will be one of the first two areas in the state to receive funding for a new Work and Learning Centre.
The Centre for Work and Learning is a pilot project that aims to address the needs of the most disadvantaged job seekers by finding innovative solutions to overcome their barriers to employment.
People who use services at the centre are given access to:
- job search support
- training opportunities, including Australian Apprenticeships and Traineeships
- support moving into work
- individualised personal assistance
- post-placement support beyond the life of a traineeship or placement into work.
The centre also offers outreach to public housing residents, the support of dedicated work and learning advisors and access to specialist services such as motivational and psychological support services.
If you live in the Corio/Norlane area and are having trouble finding work, or know someone who would like assistance in getting and keeping a job, contact the Centre for Work and Learning on the details below.
